Jordan's tourism sector has reached a remarkable milestone, with total revenue soaring to $7.8 billion in 2025, representing a substantial year-over-year increase that underscores the kingdom's growing appeal as a global travel destination.
According to data from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the number of international visitors exceeded 7 million for the first time, with key source markets including Europe, the Gulf states, and North America showing double-digit growth.
The surge in tourism revenue has been attributed to several factors, including the government's aggressive marketing campaigns, new airline routes connecting Jordan to major cities worldwide, and the continued development of tourism infrastructure in Aqaba, Petra, and the Dead Sea.
Minister of Tourism Dr. Emad Hejazeen noted that the results align with Jordan's Economic Modernization Vision, which targets the tourism sector as a key driver of economic growth and employment. The ministry has set ambitious targets for 2026, aiming to attract 8 million visitors and generate over $8.5 billion in tourism revenue.
The growth has also been supported by Jordan's enhanced visa policies, including the recent extension of tourist visa validity to 90 days and the expansion of e-visa services to additional nationalities.
